STANTON TENNIS COURT UPDATE

RECENTLY SPOKE WITH ONE OF THE JOB MANAGERS WORKING ON
STANTON TENNIS COURT RESURFACING, HE HAS ASSURED US THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE
FREE TENNIS CLINICS GIVEN AT STANTON TENNIS COURTS BY HPTC. THEY ARE WATCHING
THE WEATHER FOR ANY SIGN OF OPERATIVE TEMPERATURES TO CONTINUE THE RESURFACING
COMPLETION. STATED OBJECTIVES FOR THE COMING WEEK INCLUDE THE DRILLING OF THE
NET POLE HOLES, BENCH INSTALLATION, BACKBOARD SETUP, AND FINAL SPOT
LEVELING.
IT IS POSSIBLE WITH THE EXCELLENT WEATHER EXPECTED IN A FEW
DAYS THAT THE INITIAL BLUE BASE MAY BE ON THE REMAINING FIVE COURTS BY NEXT
WEDNESDAY.
THIS PROJECT HAS THE FULL VISIBILITY OF CITIPARKS AND THE
PUBLIC WORKS STAFF AND A LOT OF LOCAL TENNIS PLAYERS.
WE ARE FORTUNATE THAT THE RAIN PATTERN SEEMS TO BE MONDAY
THROUGH THURSDAY. THE SEALER HAS BEEN APPLIED AND WILL PREVENT WATER SATURATION
WHICH WOULD IMPEDE THE PAINTING PROCESS. THERE WAS ALSO THE HINT OF POSSIBLE
WEEKEND TASKS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE EARLY SUMMER TEMPERATURES EXPECTED THIS
WEEKEND. FIND A COURT IN ALLEGHENY COUNTY IS ON A PREVIOUS ENTRY.
GET OUT AND
HAVE
A GOOD GAME. REMEMBER THAT THE CITIPARKS TENNIS COURT GUIDELINES ARE POSTED. BE
COURTEOUS, TAKE A BREAK
AND GET ON THE LIST FOR
THE
NEXT AVAILABLE COURT.

Player to Player
Please send
Conner your advice on "trick shots"

This week’s
question from Conner:

I know not everyone likes when their
opponents hit "trick shots," but I’ve been trying to add one into my game to
changes things up a bit when the time seems appropriate. Does anyone have any
advice on the best way to hit a "tweener"? Every time I try to hit one, it goes
into the net.

Please share your advice with Conner by emailing Player@USTA.com and include your name and hometown.
